European Mobility Week

Kütahya Municipality organized some activities for “European Mobility Week”, which has been traditionally organized since 2019. Every year between 16-22 September, European Mobility Week activities organize worldwide to reduce the carbon footprint, raise public awareness and participation, and promote the use of cleaner and mobility-promoting electric vehicles, bicycles and public transport instead of fossil fuel vehicles.
In this context, after the Cycling Event organized with the Directorate of Sports Affairs under the coordination of Kütahya Municipality’s Directorate of Etude Project, a Walking Event was organized.
The event started in front of the Kütahya Municipality building and ended at Germiyan Street, one of the cultural areas of our city, with the slogans #DiscoverYourCity and #SaveEnergy, the theme of 2023. There was great interest in this walk, which targeted women and included a stop at the UNESCO Mansion on Germiyan Street to meet with crafts and art.
With the activities covering the week, national and international awareness was created and mobility from 7 to 70 encouraged. Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, the coordinator of European Mobility Week in Türkiye, donated 2 bicycles to Kütahya Municipality.
