The “Buongiorno Ceramica!” event organized by the Italian Association of Ceramic Cities (AiCC) every year in May was held in Kütahya with great interest. Kütahya, the UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Arts, contributed to this event with “ceramic hand shaping, wheel and tile drawing and painting workshops” at the UNESCO Mansion on Germiyan Street.
The “Good Morning Ceramics!” event, which took place on May 20-21, 2023 between 11:00 and 16:00 with great interest, was also appreciated by the visitors who came to our city from Izmir, Bursa and Afyon with the theme of “Welcome Spring”.
In the art-filled atmosphere of the UNESCO Mansion, participants created creative products accompanied by tea and coffee breaks and various treats. On Saturday, May 20, our Mayor Prof. Dr. Alim IŞIK and Kütahya Municipality Etude Project Manager Mehmet ZENCİ participated in the first workshop. Mayor IŞIK, who painted on tile biscuits, thanked the artists of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Wheel Master Legendary Mehmet Yıldırım and Çini Artist Emine Arabacı. The two-day workshops ended with the participation of approximately 250 people.
