Paper is Culture

The city of Fabriano is organizing the second edition of “Carta è Cultura” (Paper is Culture), taking place from September 19 to 22, 2024. This cultural event celebrates paper, an emblematic product deeply expressing the history and identity of the City. The event, driven by the city administration, aims to show the tight connection between tradition and innovation through the medium of paper, a key  of cultural transmission. The 2024 edition will focus on the connections between paper and digital technologies, exploring their complementary and integrative potential.

The Mayor Daniela Ghergo emphasizes the initiative’s role in engaging the community more broadly, showcasing local beauties, and developing a multidisciplinary program centered around paper and the Paper and Watermark Museum. The Department of Culture is already working to gather proposals, engage partners and supporters, and establish connections with both national and international Institutions within the UNESCO Creative Cities network. The focus in this edition will be on the interplay between paper and digital realms, aiming to foster and invest in their integration.

The upcoming days will see the city administration and the Department of Culture with the delegation to Fabriano Creative UNESCO to meet local associations and discuss the program for the event, promising plenty of new features. This occurrence underlines not only the involvement with cultural heritage but also the blend of traditional and modern elements in art and communication.
