The Club for UNESCO “Carrara dei Marmi” in collaboration with the Municipality of Carrara promotes the realization of this project taken on as a national project by the FICLU (Italian Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO) as an important moment for the artistic, cultural and human training of young people, for the development of creative skills and for training in the culture of peace.
Aimed at young emerging sculptors as well as students of Academies and Art Schools qualified in state and/or legally recognized sculpture courses (sculpture section) from Italy and abroad, age between 18 and 35 at the time of application.
The objectives are to make a concrete contribution to the construction of a universal language of art for the education of the culture of peace and to provide an opportunity for young sculptors a period of study and an authentic experience to express their creativity in a national competition that wants to spread UNESCO values and principles.
In fact, at this moment in history, young people need to find a creative space, whatever it may be, to manifest their personality in the world of art and it is for this reason that we aspire, through the Call for Entries, to enhance both young sculptors and the territory of Carrara, famous for its marble, as Global Village, which has always collaborated with its resources in the pursuit of solidarity in the tradition of the area, a place of not only marble quarrying but an “art workshop.
